Welcome To Holy Cross Mercy School from Holy Cross Mercy School on Vimeo.

For over 170 years Holy Cross Mercy School has been delivering an outstanding education for all students in our care. In our school we aim to combine the best of traditional values with the very latest in teaching methods and technologies.

Holy Cross Mercy School is a Catholic School under the patronage of the Bishop of Kerry, it has fifteen mainstream classes, an Autism Unit, Special Education Teachers and Language Support Teachers. It is coeducational from Junior Infants to First Class and only girls attend from 2nd to 6th class.

We endeavour to provide our pupils with a wide range of very stimulating and exciting learning experiences. All pupils benefit from an ethos that cherishes them as individuals and is committed to each child achieving their full potential.

We are leaders in technology, all children have access to iPads, digital cameras, interactive whiteboards, LRS devices, computers and laptops.

The curriculum is presented in six subject areas, some of which are further sub-divided into subjects. These are Language (Gaeilge and English), Mathematics, Social Environmental and Scientific Education (History, Geography and Science), Art Education (Visual Arts, Music and Drama), Physical Education and Social, Personal and Health Education.

We are a Digital School Of Distinction we attained this by demonstrating excellence in our approach to the integration of ICT in learning and teaching.

We were the 1st primary school In Kerry to be awarded an active flag. The school was recently awarded its second active flag. The award is given to schools who strive to achieve a physical educated and physically active school community. The children and teachers run a committee together to organize activities for the pupils.

Our school is a green school this an international environmental education programme, environmental management system and award scheme that promotes and acknowledges long-term, whole school action for the environment. We have been awarded six green flags for our commitment to the environment. The Green Team, made up of pupils and teachers work very hard keeping us on the right environmental track.

The school is very involved in the local community helping with the tidy towns and local charities.
